On this day trip to Philadelphia and Lancaster County you will discover America’s revolutionary history and authentic Amish life. We will leave from New York for Pennsylvania until we reach Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love.” We will visit Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest inhabited street in America, and see from the outside Betsy Ross’s house. Continue to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Carpenters’ Hall. From the vehicle we will observe the tomb of Benjamin Franklin before stopping at John F. Kennedy Plaza to admire the LOVE monument, the City Hall and the Great Masonic Temple. Following Benjamin Franklin Parkway we will arrive at the steps of the Museum of Art, famous for the movie Rocky. We will then travel to Lancaster County to visit an Amish home and learn about their lifestyle. We will finish at your markets before returning to New York, arriving at Times Square around 7:30 p.m.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this trip?

A: There's no official age limit, but I'd say it's best for kids who can handle a full day out. The bus ride might get a bit long for really little ones. They do have a lot of historical stuff, so older kids might find it more interesting. Just keep in mind to bring snacks and maybe a tablet for the ride!

Q: What's the best time of year to go? Is it too hot in the summer?

A: Spring and fall are definitely the best! The weather is mild and you can enjoy walking around Philly without melting. Summer can be really hot, and the bus can get warm too. If you go in summer, just pack a good water bottle and sunscreen!

Q: Is parking available near the departure point in NYC?

A: Yeah, parking can be tricky in NYC, but there are some lots around the pickup area. Just expect to pay a bit. I recommend checking SpotHero or ParkWhiz for deals in advance. And definitely allow extra time to park, NYC traffic can be a pain!

Thinking of gifting this Philly trip for my parents!

I'm considering this excursion for my parents' anniversary. They love history and this sounds perfect! The chance to see the Liberty Bell and the Amish community is super appealing. Does anyone have insights on how the bus ride is? My dad tends to get car sick.

Just got back from the Philly and Amish trip, and wow!

I just returned from this excursion, and it was fantastic! Seeing Independence Hall and the LOVE monument was a highlight. The Amish home visit was super interesting, too! Our guide was really knowledgeable. I'd say, wear comfy shoes because there’s a bit of walking. Highly recommend it!
