Q&A

Q: What should we wear on the bear tour? Any recommendations?

A: You'll want to dress in layers to adapt to changing weather since it can get chilly out on the water. Definitely wear waterproof shoes because you might get splashed by the waves. A light rain jacket is also a good idea just in case the weather turns. Don't forget your sunscreen and hat too because the sun can be strong even on overcast days!

Q: Is there an age limit for the bear tours? Can kids go?

A: Yes, kids are welcome on the tour! There isn’t a strict age limit, but keep in mind that younger kids should be comfortable on a boat and follow safety instructions. It’s a great family-friendly experience, and the guide will make sure everyone has a good time while staying safe.

Q: Can this tour be rescheduled if the weather is bad?

A: Absolutely! If the weather conditions aren't safe for the tour, they’ll reach out and help you reschedule. It's important for safety, so don’t worry about that. Just keep an eye on the weather as your date approaches, and you can adjust accordingly.

Thinking of gifting the black bear boat tour in Ketchikan!

Hey everyone! I’m considering booking the Expedition Black Bear tour for my parents’ anniversary. They love nature, and I think this would be a perfect way for them to see bears in their natural habitat. The tour is with Alaska Hummer Adventures, and I've heard they provide binoculars. Just wondering if anyone has done this tour and can share their experience?

Just got back from the black bear tour!

Wow, what an experience! My friends and I went on the Expedition Black Bear tour last week in Ketchikan, and it was amazing. We saw at least five bears up close and personal! The guide was fantastic and really knew his stuff about the local wildlife. Just a heads up, it can get chilly on the water, so wear layers! Overall, highly recommend it!
