Q&A
A: Yes, there is a weight limit for the helicopter. Typically, it's around 250 pounds per person, but the total weight of the group is taken into account too. It's best to contact Coastal Helicopters directly to confirm your specific situation before booking.
A: Dress in layers! It can get cold up there, even in summer. They provide boots and raincoats if needed, but I'd suggest thermal wear and a good jacket. Waterproof pants might also be a good idea since the glacier can be wet.
A: Absolutely! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, Coastal Helicopters will work with you to reschedule. Just keep an eye on the forecast and stay in touch with them for the best options.

Just got back from the Juneau Icefield tour - WOW!
I recently did the helicopter tour over the Juneau Icefield and landed on Herbert Glacier. It was breathtaking! The views were unreal, and walking on the glacier was like being on another planet. The pilots were super knowledgeable and helped make it even better. If you’re considering gifting this to someone, just do it! Totally worth it. Just make sure they’re okay with heights!
Thinking about this experience for my partner's birthday!
I’m looking to get the Juneau Icefield helicopter experience for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves adventure and I think this would blow his mind! Just worried about the logistics like parking and what to do if it gets canceled. Any tips?
