Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity. I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration. **Important: After booking you will receive a welcome message with important details. Q: Are there any age limits for this tide pool exploration?

A: No age limits! This experience is designed for all ages, so you can bring your little ones along. Just keep in mind that there’s some uneven terrain and stairs, so make sure the kids are comfortable with that. If they’re under 5 or so, just keep a close eye on them.

Q: What should I wear to this tide pool experience?

A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes since the terrain can be uneven! I'd recommend water shoes or sandals that can get wet. Dress in layers too, as it can be breezy along the coast. A hat and sunscreen are a must since you’ll be out in the sun. And don’t forget a light jacket if you’re going in the morning!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the experience?

A: If the weather isn’t safe, you’ll be notified and can reschedule for another day. They’ll usually reach out to you in advance if it looks like it’s going to be a wash. Just keep an eye on your emails so you don’t miss any updates. It’s definitely worth waiting for a bright sunny day!

Just did the tide pool experience with my kids – so fun!

We went to La Jolla for the tide pool exploration, and it was amazing! SnorkelMatt was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience engaging for my kids. They loved discovering different sea creatures. It was a little tough navigating the rocky areas, but totally worth it. Plus, the digital photo album we got afterward is a great keepsake!
