Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the group bodyboard lessons in Waikiki?

A: Yes, the group lessons are designed for participants aged 13 and older. It's a great way for teens and adults to enjoy surfing together! If you have younger kids, they might need to look for other options, but this one is perfect for family bonding if everyone is 13+. Just make sure everyone's comfortable in the water.

Q: What happens if the weather's bad on the day of the lesson? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather looks bad, Ohana Surf Project usually reaches out to you the day before or early in the morning to discuss options. They’re pretty flexible and will help you reschedule if needed. Just keep an eye on the forecast, and you should be good to go!

Q: What should we wear to the bodyboard lessons? Is it really necessary to rent the rash guard?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit, but the rash guard is included in the rental and I highly recommend using it. It helps protect you from the sun and board rash, especially if you're not used to bodyboarding. Just bring some sunscreen and maybe a towel for after. You'll be all set!

Thinking about gifting bodyboarding lessons in Waikiki. Anyone tried this?

I’m considering this for my sister's birthday. She loves the ocean but has never tried bodyboarding before. I've heard good things about Ohana Surf Project. Is it really beginner-friendly? How many people are usually in a group? Any tips would be awesome!

Just finished my first bodyboard lesson in Waikiki!

I just got back from the group bodyboard lesson with Ohana Surf Project, and wow, what an experience! The waves were perfect, and the instructors were really attentive, making sure we all got lots of guidance. I was a bit nervous at first, but they really helped me out. Totally recommend this as a gift!
