Q&A
A: Nope! They can guide kids as young as 2 years old, which is amazing. They have special equipment like tiny helmets and harnesses for little ones. Just make sure to check with Stone Adventures ahead of time about any specific needs or concerns you have regarding your kids’ safety and comfort!
A: Dress in comfortable, flexible clothing that you can move in. Athletic wear is perfect! Don’t forget to wear good shoes—they provide climbing shoes, but it’s best to wear something supportive for hiking to the crags. Also, check the weather before you go; it can get pretty hot or chilly in Joshua Tree depending on the time of year.
A: If the weather's really bad, Stone Adventures will likely reschedule. They prioritize safety, so if it’s too rainy or windy, just reach out to them a day or two ahead. They’re pretty flexible and will work with you to find another time that fits—plus, climbing in good weather is way more fun!

Thinking of gifting the family rock climbing trip in Joshua Tree!
I’m considering this for my family’s anniversary. We have a 5-year-old and my parents are in their late 60s. I love that they can accommodate all ages and experience levels. Just wondering if it’s really worth the money (which I get is free?!) or if it’s too much work for the older folks? Anyone tried this?
Just finished the Joshua Tree climbing trip with my kids—what an experience!
We just got back from the Family Rock Climbing Trip and I can’t stop talking about it! Our guides were amazing, super patient with the kids, and made sure everyone felt included. The scenery was incredible! It was challenging but totally doable. If you’re thinking about it for a gift, just do it. You won’t regret it!
