Q&A
A: You need to be at least 16 years old to rent the e-bikes, but if you're under 18, you’ll need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. If you're looking to gift this to someone younger, it’s worth checking if they have any special options for younger riders. The e-bikes are super fun, and they really help with the hilly terrain!
A: You’ll definitely want to wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. The carriage roads can be gravelly and dusty, so breathable athletic wear is a great choice. Also, don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses! The helmets are provided, but bring a bandana or hat for extra sun protection.
A: Parking can be a bit tricky, especially in the summer. There’s a parking lot near the rental shop, but it fills up quickly. Arriving early is key! If you're visiting during peak season, consider parking a little further away and biking in. It's totally worth it once you get on those trails!

Just got back from the fat tire e-bike rental in Bar Harbor!
OMG, I just did the fat tire e-bike rental and it was incredible! We rode around Acadia's Carriage Roads and hit all the sights like Jordan Pond and the Rockefeller bridges. The e-bikes made it so easy to cover 30 miles without being exhausted. Totally recommend packing snacks and water because we were out for a good four hours. Saw Bald Eagles too! Can’t wait to go back!
Considering gifting the fat tire e-bike experience – worth it?
Hey guys! I’m thinking of gifting the fat tire e-bike rentals to my partner for their birthday. We love outdoorsy stuff, but I’m a little worried about the terrain. Are the trails pretty manageable? What was your experience like?
