Q&A

Q: What's the weight limit for this biplane ride?

A: The maximum combined weight for passengers in the biplane is 400 lbs. So, if you’re planning to buy this as a gift, just make sure both people together fit under that limit! It’s a fun ride, but safety first!

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather isn't looking good! Scallywag Air is pretty flexible about that. Just give them a call and they'll work with you to find a new time. It's a good idea to keep an eye on the weather leading up to your flight.

Q: Is this ride suitable for kids?

A: Yeah, it's great for kids! Just keep in mind they need to be able to fit safely into the cockpit, so check the height and weight guidelines. As long as they meet those, they'll have a blast flying over Galveston!

Thinking of gifting the biplane ride in Galveston – worth it?

I’m looking to surprise my husband with a biplane ride in Galveston. He’s always wanted to fly in an open cockpit! I saw it’s about 10-12 minutes in the air and includes cool retro goggles. I’m a bit worried about the weather though, and if we’ll fit weight-wise. Any advice?

Just did the biplane ride in Galveston – OMG!

Wow, what an experience! The First Mate Open Cockpit Biplane ride was something I’ll never forget. We did a scenic circle around the Pleasure Pier and Battleship Texas. The thrill of being up there was unreal! The retro cap and goggles made it even more fun. Highly recommend it!
