Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for renting kayaks or SUPs at Pelican Bay?

A: There's no strict age limit for kayaking or SUPing at Pelican Bay! Kids as young as 5 can join on a tandem kayak with an adult. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a little help, so if you have a toddler, they might not have the strength to paddle effectively on their own. Always good to check if the life jackets fit well too!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad and we can't go out on the water?

A: If the weather is too rough or unsafe, Kayak Excursions will definitely reschedule your rental. They take safety seriously, and you can usually just call them to confirm your new date. Just check their cancellation policy on the website so you’re fully in the loop!

Q: What should we wear for kayaking at Pelican Bay?

A: I'd recommend wearing quick-drying clothes, like athletic wear or a swimsuit. Definitely bring a hat and sunscreen, 'cause you’ll be out in the sun! Water shoes are ideal, but flip-flops can work too if you don’t mind them getting wet. Just remember, it can get slippery!

Just went kayaking at Pelican Bay - here's what I thought!

I took my friends out for a day of kayaking at Pelican Bay and it was amazing! We rented tandem kayaks and explored the tidal creeks. The equipment was top-notch! The life jackets were comfy, and the paddles were really easy to use. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun day on the water.
