Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the hike at Mt. Rainier? Is it super steep?

A: Definitely wear layered clothing since the weather can change quickly at Mt. Rainier. I'd suggest sturdy hiking boots and something waterproof, as you might encounter some rain. The hike isn't too steep, so if you're used to walking on trails, you should be fine! Just take your time and enjoy the views.

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for kids to join this tour?

A: There's no strict age requirement, but they recommend kids be at least 5 years old for the hike to ensure they can handle the trails. It’s a family-friendly experience, and kids usually love exploring the park! Just keep in mind that the tour is geared toward those who can enjoy some walking.

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather looks bad, or are we stuck with our original date?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather is really bad! They usually keep an eye on conditions and will reach out if they need to change plans. Just make sure to give them enough notice if you need to switch dates. It’s a good idea to check their policy during the booking process.

Just did the Mt. Rainier Tour from Portland - Totally worth it!

I just got back from the Mt. Rainier tour with Barbils Tours, and wow, it was amazing! The van ride was comfortable, and our guide shared some fun facts about the Gold Rush towns on the way. Once we got to the park, hiking among those giant sequoias was surreal. We had a few hours to explore on our own too, which gave us a chance to grab some pics! I highly recommend this for anyone who loves nature.

Thinking of gifting this Mt. Rainier tour - any tips?

I’m considering getting the Mt. Rainier tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves the outdoors but isn’t super into strenuous hikes. Is this tour suitable for someone like her? Also, how do the logistics work with picking up from Portland?
