Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this trip? Wondering if it's good for my 8-year-old.

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids usually enjoy it! The hike in Muir Woods is pretty easy, so your 8-year-old should be fine. Just make sure they can handle a couple of hours of walking. Also, keep in mind that Sausalito has some steep areas, but they offer a lot of fun things to see!

Q: What should I wear for the Muir Woods part? Is it really chilly there?

A: Muir Woods can be cooler, especially in the morning. I’d recommend wearing layers. A light jacket and comfy shoes are a must since you’ll be walking on trails. Don’t forget sunscreen, too, because you’ll be exposed once you hit the open areas!

Q: How easy is parking in San Francisco for this trip? I’m driving down.

A: Parking in SF can be tricky, but if you book this tour, they handle hotel pickup and drop-off, which is super convenient! If you decide to drive, just plan on arriving early to find a spot, especially near the hotel. But honestly, it’s way stress-free to let them handle it!

Just got back from the Muir Woods day trip - WOW!

I took the day trip from SF to Muir Woods and Sausalito last weekend, and it was amazing! The redwoods are breathtaking, like being in a fairy tale. Our guide was super knowledgeable, and I learned so much about the trees. Sausalito was cute too, we had an awesome lunch at a waterfront cafe. Can’t wait to do it again!

Thinking about gifting this day trip - anyone done it?

I’m considering this day trip to Muir Woods and Sausalito as a gift for my sister’s birthday. She loves nature, but I’m wondering how much walking is involved. The description says ‘easy’ but I want to make sure she's not overwhelmed. Also, what’s the food situation like in Sausalito?
