Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but I'd recommend it for kids 5 and up. The SHERP is pretty safe and climate-controlled, but younger ones might not enjoy the bumpy ride as much. Just make sure they dress warmly since it can get cold out there, even in the SHERP!
A: Dress in layers! It can be pretty cold in Alaska, even in the SHERP. I'd recommend thermal undergarments, a good waterproof jacket, and warm boots. Also, don’t forget gloves and a hat! It’s all about staying comfy while enjoying the views.
A: Weather can be unpredictable in Alaska, but the SHERP tour is designed to handle tough conditions. If the weather is really bad, they typically give you a heads up and let you reschedule for a later date. They’re pretty accommodating, so just reach out to them if you're unsure!

Just got back from the SHERP tour, and wow!
I did the Fairbanks to Denali Winter Adventure last week and it was amazing! The SHERP tour was my favorite part. We went off-road on frozen rivers and it was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. The guides were super knowledgeable and made us feel safe the whole time. Lunch in Healy was a nice break too. Planning to gift this to my parents for their anniversary!
Anyone else nervous about the cold for this experience?
I’m thinking about booking this Denali adventure for my husband’s birthday but I’m worried about how cold it gets. I know it’s a SHERP, but still! What if we can’t handle it? Any tips from those who’ve gone? How warm is it inside?
