Q&A
A: Yes, kids can definitely join! The guides are great with families, but they usually recommend kids be at least 10 years old for a full day trip. It helps ensure they can handle the experience and enjoy the fishing without getting too tired. Just make sure they’re dressed warmly in layers!
A: Fishing in Soldotna can be a bit unpredictable, but generally, summer is fantastic. If it does rain, they usually still go out as long as it's safe. Just check the forecast, and dress in layers! The guides will contact you if there's a need to cancel due to severe weather.
A: Comfort is key! Wear sturdy shoes, preferably waterproof, as you’ll be in waders. Layers are important too, since it can get chilly in the morning. You might appreciate a sun hat and polarized sunglasses for the afternoon sun. The guides provide waders, but make sure your clothes underneath are comfortable!

Can't wait for my full day fishing trip in Soldotna!
Just booked a full day fishing trip with Kenai River Trout Anglers! I’ve heard amazing things about the guides and the Kenai canyon stretch. I’m super excited to catch some salmon and just enjoy the Alaskan scenery. I’m taking my dad for his birthday, and I hope he loves it. Any tips for first-timers?
Just got back from the fishing trip and wow!
I did the full day fishing trip a week ago and it was INCREDIBLE! We caught so many fish, and the guides were super chill and helpful. The scenery was breathtaking, especially in the canyon stretch. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a great fishing experience in Alaska. Can’t stop talking about it!
