Q&A
A: Yes, kids are welcome on the fishing charter! It's a great family activity. Just be sure to check with the Saltwater Safari Company for any specific age restrictions or recommendations. I took my 10-year-old, and he had a blast catching his first fish!
A: Dress in layers! The weather can change quickly in Alaska, so a waterproof jacket is a must. I wore a thermal shirt, a fleece, and my rain gear, and I was comfortable all day. Also, don’t forget a hat and sunglasses to protect against the glare on the water.
A: Getting to Seward is pretty straightforward! There’s ample parking near the docks, but it can fill up quickly during peak season, so I recommend arriving early. Also, keep in mind that you might have to pay a small daily fee for parking.

Just booked the Full Day Halibut Fishing Charter! Any tips?
Hey everyone! I just booked the Full Day Halibut Bottom Fishing Charter with Saltwater Safari Company for next month in Seward. Super pumped! It's 10 hours out on the Gulf of Alaska, and I hear they provide all the bait and tackle. I know I need to bring my lunch and some rain gear, but any other tips? What to expect?
Fishing Charter Experience - Worth it?
So, I just got back from the Full Day Halibut Bottom Fishing Charter, and WOW! The crew was super helpful, and I caught two halibut! Remember to bring snacks because it gets long out there. A great day on the water, can’t recommend it enough! Just be ready for some chilly winds.
