Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for participants in the Full-Day Ice Climbing experience?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but generally, participants should be at least 12 years old to ensure safety and physical capability. Kids under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. It's a great way to get younger climbers into the sport in a fun and safe environment!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the climb?

A: If weather conditions are unsafe for climbing, Mountain Trip will typically reschedule your adventure for another day. They’ll keep you updated on any changes, so you won’t lose your chance to climb! Just make sure to check their cancellation policies when you book.

Q: What type of footwear do we need to bring for the ice climbing?

A: You don’t need to bring any special footwear! Mountain Trip provides all necessary technical gear, including boots that are designed for ice climbing. Just wear warm socks, and if you can, bring layers for warmth. You'll be on your feet a lot!

Thinking of gifting the Full-Day Ice Climbing experience in Ouray!

Hey everyone! I’m looking into getting this ice climbing experience for my boyfriend’s birthday. He’s a total thrill-seeker, and I think he’d love it! Has anyone done this before? What was it like? Any tips on what to bring or expect? I want to make sure he has the best time possible.

Just came back from the Full-Day Ice Climbing at Ouray!

OMG, I just had the best time at the Ouray Ice Park! Our guide was super experienced and helped me feel comfortable, even though I was a total beginner. They provided everything we needed, and tackling those ice walls was insane. Can’t recommend it enough! Anyone else been?
