Q&A
A: The chances of seeing whales are quite high! On the full-day cruise, they often see humpback and orca whales, especially in June through August. The onboard naturalists are super knowledgeable and will help you spot them. Just keep your eyes peeled and be ready with your binoculars!
A: Definitely layer up! It can get chilly on the water, especially in Seward. I'd recommend a waterproof jacket, warm layers, and maybe a beanie. Even if it's sunny, the wind can make it feel much colder. Don't forget sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare off the water!
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Major Marine Tours has a good policy for rescheduling due to weather. If the captain decides that the conditions are unsafe, they’ll let you know and help you find another date. Just make sure to call them as soon as possible.

Just got back from the Kenai Fjords cruise - WOW!
I just did the full-day Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise and it was absolutely epic! We saw a bunch of orcas and humpbacks, plus tons of sea otters. The glaciers were mind-blowing, especially watching them calve. The onboard naturalist was great at telling us all about the wildlife. Oh, and the lunch was surprisingly good! Definitely worth the money. Anyone else been on this cruise?
Thinking of gifting the Kenai Fjords cruise - tips?
I’m thinking about getting the full-day Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise as a gift for my parents. They love nature and it seems like a cool experience. Has anyone done it? Any tips on how to make it special for them? Also, do you think it's good for older folks? They’re in their 70s.
