Mt. Hood is the highest summit in Oregon. It features waterfalls, glaciers, and historic Timberline Lodge, built by local artisans during the Great Depression, and featuring the longest ski season in the US. To the north of Mt. Hood is the Hood River Valley and Columbia Gorge American Viticultural Area (AVA), the lovechild of the Columbia Valley and Willamette Valley AVAs. You will get intimate with this area through the opportunity to enjoy the local wine, cider, and beer, a visit to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, and stops at Vista House and Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon and most visited site in the Pacific Northwest. Your expert guide will teach you about the natural history, cultural history, and wine background of the area, as you drive the Mt. Hood and Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byways. You'll visit 2 vineyards. We host lunch, and a glass of wine at one vineyard, *you cover beverages at a second vineyard, at your leisure*.

Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the Mt. Hood waterfall tour? Is it mostly outdoors?

A: Definitely wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing! You’ll be walking to see waterfalls and hiking a bit around Timberline Lodge, so good shoes are a must. Layering is key because it can get chilly at the top of Mt. Hood, even in summer. I’d also suggest bringing a light jacket or fleece.

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? I'd like to take my kids.

A: This tour is great for families! There’s no strict age limit, but the kids should be able to walk around and handle some light hiking. They’ll love the waterfalls and the lunch at the vineyard. Just keep an eye on them near the falls as it can be slippery.

Q: What if the weather cancels the tour? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they typically will reach out to you and offer a reschedule or a refund. I’ve heard from others that Terran Travels is pretty flexible with changes, which is good to know. Just keep that in mind when you book.

Just booked the Mt. Hood Waterfall Tour and I can't wait!

I’m so excited! I booked this full-day tour for my birthday in October. I've always wanted to see Multnomah Falls, and the wine tasting sounds amazing. Also, lunch at a vineyard? Yes, please! I’m curious if anyone has tips on what else to expect, especially at the vineyards!

Anyone else do the Mt. Hood Waterfall Tour recently? How was it?

Thinking of getting this experience as a gift for my parents' anniversary. I’d love to hear any recent experiences. Was the lunch good? And what were the wines like? Would they enjoy it?
