Our team has been doing guided walking tours of Historic Downtown Savannah for over 20 years. We wanted to create a walking tour that was more than just your "traditional" kid-friendly tour. Fun Facts and a Snack was brought to life after going on a school field trip with my nephew. I was motivated to create a tour that kids of all ages would not only enjoy, but are also able to learn something along the way. Join us as we take you and your child on a stroll through the city squares and Historic District of the Hostess City. We will meet in Johnson Square, by the monument for Nathaniel Greene.

Q&A

Q: Is it okay for adults to join in on the Fun Facts And A Snack tour with kids?

A: Absolutely! This tour is designed to be fun for all ages, so adults are more than welcome to join. You'll get to experience the rich history of Savannah alongside the kids, and I'm sure you'll learn a thing or two yourself! Just a heads-up, though, the focus is on keeping it engaging for the younger crowd, so if you're looking for a super detailed history lesson, you might want to consider a different tour.

Q: What's the age limit for kids on this tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit! The tour is crafted for kids of all ages, and as long as they're able to walk comfortably, they can join. It's really family-friendly, so little ones and even teens will find something enjoyable. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a little help with the walking distance, depending on how long it is that day.

Q: What should we wear for the walking tour in Savannah?

A: Comfort is key! I’d recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes since you’ll be on your feet a lot. Also, check the weather ahead of time because it can be pretty hot in Savannah. Light, breathable clothes are ideal, and don’t forget sunscreen if it’s sunny. A hat wouldn’t hurt either!

I’m really excited about this walking tour in Savannah! My kids love history, and the idea of getting snacks along the way is a huge plus. We’re thinking of going next month, and I hope the weather is nice! Is there a certain time that’s better to go, like morning or afternoon? Any tips from those who've done it?
