Explore the masterpieces of Galveston's sculpture artists that have breathed a second life into something Mother Nature attempted to destroy. Take yourself or the family around to enjoy all the great tree sculptures. It's a great tour to learn about the efforts of local citizens and the Galveston Island Tree Conservancy, to restore many of the dead trees into sculptures that now decorate the island.

Q&A

Q: Are there age or weight restrictions for the Segway tour?

A: There aren't strict age restrictions, but kids should be at least 12 years old to ride solo. Also, they should be able to comfortably reach the handlebars. As for weight, the Segways can accommodate riders up to 300 lbs. It's best to check with Seg City Galveston for any specific concerns you might have!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the tour day?

A: If it's raining or severe weather, they usually postpone the tour for safety reasons. You'll get a chance to reschedule, and they’ll work with you to find a new date that fits. Just make sure to check the weather report before your tour!

Q: What should we wear for the Segway tree tour?

A: Comfortable clothes are key! You'll be riding around for a while, so wear something that doesn’t restrict your movement. Closed-toed shoes are a must, and if it’s sunny, don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses. The guide usually suggests dressing in layers for the weather!

Anyone else done the Galveston Tree Carvings Segway Tour?

I took my family on the Segway tour last month, and it was amazing! The tree sculptures are so unique, and our guide was super knowledgeable about the history of each carving. We went around for about 1.5 hours, which was just perfect. I was a bit nervous about riding a Segway at first, but they made it really easy. Definitely recommend it as a fun family outing or a cool gift!
