Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit, but it's recommended for ages 12 and up since some of the history can be intense. Younger kids would probably get bored or not understand it. If you’re bringing younger ones, just be prepared to explain some of the darker stuff!
A: Definitely dress casually but also consider comfort since you'll be walking a lot. Lots of folks wear sneakers or comfy boots, and layering is key because the weather can change. If you want to go all out in pirate gear, the guides will love it and it makes for great photos!
A: They usually run the tour rain or shine! But if it’s a major storm, they might reschedule. I’d recommend checking in with them if the weather looks iffy. Bring an umbrella just in case!

Just did the Gangs and River Pirates tour—such a wild time!
I went on the Gangs and River Pirates tour last weekend and it was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable and had us all dressed up like real pirates. We got to explore some of the Five Points and learned about the history of the gangs and corruption. It felt like stepping back in time. Definitely wear comfortable shoes because you do a lot of walking. Highly recommend it as a gift for history buffs or anyone who loves New York!
Considering the Gangs and River Pirates tour as a gift for my dad!
I’m thinking of getting this tour for my dad’s birthday. He loves history, especially about New York. Has anyone done it? Is it worth the price and time? I want it to be a memorable gift!
