Q&A
A: The tour is suitable for all ages, but younger kids might get a bit restless since it can last around 2-3 hours. I took my 10-year-old, and he loved the stories! Just be sure to wear comfy shoes since we did a lot of walking. If you have a toddler, a stroller might be tricky in some areas.
A: Definitely wear comfy shoes! The Garden District has mostly paved paths but be prepared for some uneven sidewalks and a few grassy areas in the cemetery. I'd recommend breathable clothes since it can get hot, especially in the summer. A hat and sunscreen are also a good idea if you're going during the day.
A: They usually go on unless the weather is really terrible. If it’s light rain, they might just provide ponchos. I went last month and it drizzled a bit, but the guide made it fun and kept us dry enough! But if they do need to cancel, they’ll reschedule you for another day or provide a refund.

Just did the Garden District walking tour and WOW!
I took the Garden District and Gates of Lafayette Cemetery tour last weekend, and it was incredible! The guide shared so much rich history about the mansions and the cemetery. I especially loved hearing about the unique burial practices in NOLA. Wear comfy shoes; we walked a lot! Highly recommend it as a gift or just for yourself!
Looking for a unique gift idea!
I’m thinking of gifting the Garden District tour for my partner’s birthday. They love history and architecture! Is the tour engaging enough for someone who's been to NOLA multiple times? What do you all think?
