Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the Getty Center Guided Tour?

A: No specific age limit for the Getty Center Guided Tour! It’s family-friendly, so kids are welcome. Just keep in mind that younger children might not have the same attention span for art, but the gardens are fun for all ages. It's a good idea to check the specific content of the tour if you're bringing really little ones.

Q: What should I wear for the Getty Center tour? Is there a dress code?

A: There’s no strict dress code, but I suggest wearing comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking quite a bit. The Getty Center has some beautiful gardens, so layers might be a good idea if you’re going in the morning. It can get chilly but warms up nicely!

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the tour?

A: Tours at the Getty Center usually continue rain or shine! Most of the tour is indoors, but you’ll want to bring an umbrella if you plan to stroll through the gardens. If it’s severe weather, the tour might be rescheduled, and they’ll contact you about changes.

Just booked the Getty Center tour for a gift! Any tips?

I'm really excited because I just got a guided tour at the Getty Center for my parents' anniversary! They love art, and I know they'll appreciate the stories behind the pieces. I opted for the early morning slot since the views should be amazing. Anyone have tips on what to check out after the tour? I want to make this a special day!

Just did the Getty Center tour—amazing experience!

I can't recommend the Getty Center Guided Tour enough! Our guide was super knowledgeable and pointed out some incredible pieces we would’ve missed otherwise. Seeing Van Gogh’s “Irises” in person was a highlight for me. The views from the terrace are unreal. I stayed afterward to explore the gardens, which were just as beautiful. Perfect day trip from LA!
