The day begins at the magnificent Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve with a walk among trees that soar 300 feet in the sky. This is an unparalleled chance to experience trees that have been around for 1500 years. We purposefully choose NOT to go to the more known Muir Woods, which is overrun with crowds and prevents our guests from fully enjoying the majesty of the Redwoods. Instead, we go to Armstrong Woods, which has older and taller trees, and far less crowds. We then move on to Kendall-Jackson winery and culinary garden where the farm-to-table culinary movement is in full bloom as we tour through the gardens that are the source of vegetables for California’s most prestigious restaurants. Once we’ve seen the incredible offering of the culinary garden, Kendall Jackson’s award-winning chefs will prepare a five-course lunch paired with some of the winery's finest offerings. The menu changes with the seasons depending on the freshest offerings from the garden.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this Giant Redwoods Tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit for kids, but I would recommend it for ages 8 and up. The hike through the redwoods can be pretty long and requires some walking, so younger kids might struggle a bit. It's a great family day though, and the food is delicious!

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, they usually reschedule the tour for you. They want everyone to enjoy the redwoods and the garden without getting soaked! Just make sure to check their cancellation policy after you book.

Q: How's the parking situation if we're driving to San Francisco?

A: If you’re driving, it’s best to park at your hotel if you can. They offer pickups from select downtown hotels, which is super convenient. Parking can get tricky around Fisherman’s Wharf, especially on weekends, so leaving your car at the hotel is a good move.

Thinking of gifting the Giant Redwoods Tour! Is it worth it?

Hey everyone! I'm considering gifting the Giant Redwoods Tour with the 5-course winery lunch to my parents. They’re big nature lovers and love trying new foods. I just want to know if it’s as amazing as it sounds! How’s the food? And do you really get to see those giant trees up close? Any tips?

Just went on the Giant Redwoods Tour, and wow!

I just got back from the Giant Redwoods Tour with lunch at Kendall-Jackson, and it was AMAZING! The trees are just so tall, you feel tiny next to them. The five-course meal was seasonal and super fresh. Best part? No crazy crowds like Muir Woods. Totally recommend this experience for anyone looking to appreciate nature and enjoy some great food.
