Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can be chilly out near the glacier, especially in the morning. I'd suggest a moisture-wicking base layer, a warm fleece, and a waterproof jacket. Don't forget a hat and gloves—those icy winds can sneak up on you! Also, wear quick-drying pants or shorts depending on how brave you feel. Trust me, you want to be comfy while paddling around icebergs!
A: Yes, Chugach Adventures is pretty flexible with rescheduling due to weather. They prioritize safety, so if conditions aren’t optimal, they’ll contact you to rearrange. Just make sure to give them a call as soon as you know you can’t make it. I had to reschedule mine because of rain, and it was no hassle at all!
A: The tour is actually great for beginners! The staff will adjust the experience based on your skill level, so just let them know when you book. They provide all the gear and give you a quick lesson before you head out. I had never kayaked before and I felt totally comfortable the whole time!

Just did the Glacier Blue Kayak tour, and WOW!
I just got back from the Glacier Blue Kayak & Grandview Tour and I can't recommend it enough! The scenery is out of this world—paddling up to the glacier was surreal. We even got to hike on the glacier moraines which was super cool! The lunch they provided was tasty too. I’d say it's perfect for anyone who loves nature and a bit of adventure. Oh, and the train ride was a great way to start and finish the day! Definitely a must-do in Alaska!
Considering gifting the Glacier Blue Kayak tour!
Hey everyone! I'm thinking about gifting the Glacier Blue Kayak & Grandview Tour for my sister's birthday. She’s into kayaking but hasn't done anything like this. The price is a bit hard to figure since it’s $0.00 here, which is odd. Has anyone done this? Any tips on making it special for her?
