Q&A
A: The hike is designed to be accessible for all ages, including seniors. While some parts can be a bit challenging, the guides will scale the hike based on your group's ability. They really focus on safety and comfort, plus you'll have the spiked footwear which helps a ton. Just let the guide know your group's experience level and they’ll accommodate!
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get pretty cold on the glacier, even in summer. Wear a good base layer, a warm insulating layer, and a waterproof outer layer. And don’t forget warm socks and gloves! They provide the spiked boots and helmets, but you’ll want to be comfortable underneath those.
A: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they’ll usually reschedule for you. It’s Alaska, so conditions can change quickly! Just keep an eye on the forecast and be flexible with your plans. They’re really good about keeping you informed about safety and weather conditions.

Can't wait for my Matanuska Glacier hike!
I'm so excited! I just booked the Glacier Hike on Matanuska Glacier for next month. I’ve heard it’s amazing, especially with the free photography lessons included. I’m a bit worried about the physical level though. Anyone know how tough it really is? Also, what kind of views can I expect? Planning to take my parents, so I want to make sure they have a good experience too!
Thinking of gifting the glacier hike experience
I’m considering getting the Glacier Hike on Matanuska Glacier for my sister's birthday. She loves the outdoors but is a bit clumsy. Do you think the guides are good with beginners? Also, is it worth the price? Any feedback?
