Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! The boat can get chilly, especially if it’s windy, so bring a waterproof jacket and maybe a warm hat. If you're going in the summer, it may warm up later in the day, so you can shed some layers. Comfortable shoes are also a must since you’ll be walking around at the wildlife center.
A: No age limit! Kids are more than welcome on this tour, and I think they'll love the wildlife and boat ride. Just keep an eye on the little ones during the boat tour since it can get a bit bumpy. The guides are super friendly and accommodating.
A: Yes, if the weather is severe enough to impact safety or enjoyment, they’ll allow you to reschedule. Just make sure to reach out in advance. I had to change my date once because of rain, and they were really helpful about it.

Just booked the Glaciers and Wildlife tour! Any tips?
Hey guys! I'm super excited to go on the Glaciers and Wildlife tour from Anchorage next month. I’ve heard great things about the Portage Glacier cruise and the wildlife center. Is there anything specific I should bring or prepare? Also, how’s the parking situation if we’re driving ourselves?
Had an AMAZING time on the Anchorage Glacier tour!
I just got back from the Glaciers and Wildlife tour and wow, what an experience! The boat ride on Portage Glacier was breathtaking, and we saw a ton of wildlife at the conservation center. Our guide was super knowledgeable too. If you're thinking about it as a gift, go for it! You won't regret it!
