Q&A

Q: What are the age limits for the surf lessons? Can kids join?

A: Great question! Kids as young as 7 can join the surf lessons, and they generally have a ton of fun. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the ocean and can follow instructions. Jared is super patient and great with kids, so they’ll be in good hands!

Q: What should I wear for the surf lessons? Do I need to bring anything?

A: You don't need to bring much since they provide a rash guard and a soft-top surfboard. Just wear your swimsuit and maybe some water shoes if you want. Don’t forget sunscreen—you're in Hawaii, and the sun can be intense! A hat is also good for after surfing.

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if conditions aren't safe for surfing. Jared is quite flexible with that and will work with you to find a new time. Just make sure to check in with him 24 hours in advance if you can. Safety first!

Thinking of gifting a surf lesson – any tips?

So I'm considering getting this surf lesson experience with Go Surf Hawai'i for my brother's birthday. He’s never surfed before but loves the ocean. I saw they tailor the lessons to different skill levels, which is great! Anyone done this before? What was your experience like?

Any recommendations for first-timers at Go Surf Hawai'i?

I’m planning a trip to the Big Island and want to try surfing at Go Surf Hawai’i. I’ve never surfed before, so I’m a bit nervous. What should I expect? Any advice or tips for a newbie?
