Q&A

Q: Is this tour suitable for kids? What age ranges are best?

A: Yes, the Jeep tour is suitable for kids, but I’d say ages 8 and up would really enjoy it. The views are breathtaking, and the guides do a great job explaining the history, which kids tend to find fascinating. Just make sure they're okay with the elevation changes and some rough roads!

Q: What's the best time of year to do this tour? How's the weather?

A: The best time is late spring to early fall when the weather is milder and the wildflowers are in bloom. We went in September, and it was perfect, but always check the forecast since it can get chilly at higher elevations. If there’s heavy rain or snow, they might reschedule, but they’ll let you know in advance.

Q: Is there parking available at the starting point in Cañon City?

A: Yes, there is parking available near the tour starting point in Cañon City. It's free, but can fill up quickly during weekends. If you're going on a Saturday, arrive a little early to secure your spot. The area is pretty safe for leaving your car.

Just did the Gold Belt Scenic Byway Jeep Tour — WOW!

I took the Gold Belt Scenic Byway Jeep Tour last weekend with my family, and it was absolutely amazing! The views from over 11,000 feet were breathtaking. We stopped for lunch at this cute local bakery in Victor, and the guide was super knowledgeable about the history of the area. I think it’s a perfect gift for anyone who loves the outdoors or history. Just be ready for a bit of a bumpy ride!

Thinking of gifting the Jeep Tour for my parent's anniversary!

I’m really considering this Jeep tour for my parents’ anniversary. They love scenic drives and history. Looking for thoughts on the lunch included—anyone have experience with the bakery? Also, how strenuous is the ride? My mom isn't super adventurous. Thanks!
