Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but I'd say it's best for kids over 5. The boat can be a bit rocky, and younger ones might get seasick. Plus, Captain Sal shares some pretty deep stories about the area, so older kids will likely enjoy it more! Just keep an eye on your little ones, and they'll have a blast!
A: If the weather looks sketchy, they usually contact you a day before to discuss options. They might reschedule or offer a refund if it's too dangerous to go out. Definitely call them to confirm their policy closer to your date, just to be safe.
A: Layering is key! It can start warm in SF, but once you’re out on the water, it gets breezy and colder. Wear a light jacket and comfortable shoes. Bring a hat and sunglasses too! You might want to stand at the front for the best views, so make sure you’re comfy.

Thinking of gifting the Golden Gate Bay Voyage, any advice?
I’m looking to surprise my partner with the Golden Gate Bay Voyage on the historic yellow boat. It sounds amazing to see the Golden Gate Bridge from the water! I read Captain Sal is quite the storyteller. Is it really worth it? Also, how long does the trip usually take?
Just got back from the Golden Gate Bay Voyage – WOW!
Seriously, this experience was incredible! The views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge are just breathtaking. Captain Sal is such a character, and his stories about the boat’s history were fascinating! I highly recommend bringing a camera. You won’t want to miss the shots of the Palace of Fine Arts and those views of the city!
