All of our tour guides are Bay Area Natives, which will help you understand what it’s like to grow up in SF and now live here as grown ups with our own families. You will enjoy an introduction to San Francisco on this 5 to 6 hour tour that includes Neighborhoods like Chinatown, North Beach, Pacific Heights and a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Monument. You'll be driven around the city to see its diverse neighborhoods and geography, stopping several times for photo ops. At Muir Woods, admire the towering redwood trees, and visit the waterfront town of Sausalito for lunch (own expense). Works great for people coming from cruise ships. You cannot book the Alcatraz option under 4 days in advance.

Q&A

Q: Is the tour suitable for young kids? What's the age limit?

A: Absolutely! The tour is family-friendly, and kids will love the giant redwoods at Muir Woods. There’s no strict age limit, but keep in mind that younger kids might get tired during the 5-6 hour experience. Consider bringing a child carrier or stroller if you have little ones.

Q: How do we book the Alcatraz option? Is it worth it?

A: You can book the Alcatraz ticket through SF Excursions when you choose the tour option that includes it, but remember, you can't do it less than 4 days in advance. It's definitely worth it if you're interested in the history of the island. The audio tour there is super engaging!

Q: What's the best way to get there? Is parking tough?

A: Getting to the starting point is pretty straightforward. Public transport is ideal in SF, but if you drive, parking can be tricky. There are some lots near the meeting spot, but they fill up fast! I’d recommend arriving early or considering a rideshare option.

Thinking of gifting the Golden Gate Bridge & Muir Woods tour - any thoughts?

I’m considering gifting this experience to my parents when they visit next month. They love nature and history! I’m particularly interested in the Muir Woods part. How long do we get there? Also, is the tour guide really knowledgeable? I want them to have a great time!

Just did the Golden Gate Bridge & Muir Woods tour!

I went on this tour last week, and it was just fantastic! The redwoods at Muir Woods are even more impressive in person. We got some great photo ops on the Golden Gate Bridge too. Just a heads up, don’t forget to bring some snacks for Sausalito; lunch is on your own!
