Q&A
A: Kids are definitely welcome! Scott has guided families before, and he’s great with kids. Just keep in mind that the hike can be a bit challenging, especially if you choose a more difficult route. Maybe check with him about customizing the hike to fit your child’s ability. He can suggest the best trails for younger hikers.
A: Definitely dress in layers! Mornings can be chilly, especially in the fall and winter. A light jacket or long sleeves are great to start with, and you can shed them as it warms up. Good hiking shoes are a must too, plus don’t forget a hat and sunscreen for when the sun comes out.
A: Parking is free at Piestewa Peak. There are a few lots available, but they can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. If you're going for a sunrise hike, it might be best to get there early to snag a spot. Just keep in mind as well that it's a popular place, so expect some crowds!

Sunrise Hike at Piestewa Peak - Totally Worth It!
I just did the sunrise hike with Scott last week and wow, the views were breathtaking! 🌅 We saw some amazing colors in the sky, and Scott shared some cool facts about the desert wildlife. The trail was a bit tough but totally manageable. He even customized the route for us since we had beginners in our group. Highly recommend this experience if you're in Phoenix!
Gift Idea: Guided Hike at Piestewa Peak - Need Opinions!
I’m thinking of getting this guided hike for my partner’s birthday. They love being outdoors and have been wanting to explore Piestewa Peak. I saw it includes a water bottle, but do I need to pack snacks as well? And is Scott flexible with the route? Just want to make sure it’s a good fit!
