We can show skiers and split boarder alike the bests routes of the day. If you are coming from out of town, there is a lot of research that needs to be done to make sure you are making the most of the limited time. Even if you chose one mountain to climb, you might end up on the south facing side that can get snow baked by 11:30 am on a fresh powder day or one that already crusted from the night before. Let our local guides take to the best conditions that lake has to offer that day.

Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the Guided Backcountry Ski Experience? Is there a dress code?

A: You’ll want to wear layers! A moisture-wicking base layer, an insulating layer (like fleece), and a waterproof shell are key. Also, don’t forget your gloves, goggles, and a good hat. Temperatures in Lake Tahoe can change quickly, so being prepared is super important!

Q: Can this experience accommodate beginners? My friend has only skied a few times!

A: Yes, our guides are experienced at tailoring the experience to the skill level of participants. If your friend is new to backcountry skiing, just let the team know in advance so they can choose a suitable route. It's a great way for beginners to learn with local experts!

Q: If the weather's bad, are we able to reschedule the Guided Backcountry Ski Experience?

A: Yes! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, Tahoe Multisport will work with you to find another day that works for both you and their guides. Just try to give them a heads up as early as you can, so they can reschedule without too much hassle.

Thinking of gifting the Guided Backcountry Ski Experience for my boyfriend's birthday!

I’m really excited about this! He loves skiing but hasn’t done backcountry yet. I read that Tahoe Multisport knows all the best routes based on the weather, which sounds amazing. I'd hate for him to miss out on fresh powder! Has anyone done this recently? How was the experience? Did they help with the ski conditions?

Just got back from the Guided Backcountry Ski Experience and WOW!

Seriously, if you love skiing, you need to do this! The guides were awesome and took us to some of the best spots in Tahoe. We had a small group, and they tailored everything to our skill levels. The snow was perfect that day too! I’m thinking of doing this again for a friend's birthday. Totally worth it!
