Are you ready to experience one of the best excursions New Orleans has to offer? Adventures of Jean Lafitte offers personal Alligator Tours through Louisiana’s beautiful backcountry. Gather your whole crew and come experience the “road less traveled”! You’ll be touring 20,000 acres of tidewater cypress swamp. During your 1 hour 30 minute tour you’ll have opportunities to see alligators, snakes, turtles, egrets, herons and ibis, and we sometimes see hawks, owls and bald eagles. NOTE: We are approximately 35-45 minutes from New Orleans. Cab and uber services are not available in our area. If you book the self-drive option you will not receive hotel pickup. If you book the option with pickup, pickups will begin 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to tour time.

Q: Are there any age limits for the guided boat tour?

A: There aren't strict age limits, but it's recommended for kids aged 5 and up. Just keep in mind that younger ones might need supervision, especially with the alligator sightings. If you’re bringing kids, make sure they can handle a 1.5-hour boat ride!

Q: What should we wear for the bayou tour? Is it muddy or wet?

A: Definitely wear something comfortable and appropriate for warm weather. Lightweight clothing is best! I’d recommend closed-toe shoes since the boarding area can get muddy. Also, don't forget sunscreen! You might want a hat too, depending on the sun.

Q: How's the parking situation there? Is it easy to find?

A: Parking is pretty straightforward. There’s a lot right by the dock, and it’s usually not too crowded. Just make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early so you have time to find your way and park without rushing!

Just did the guided boat tour of the bayou last week and wow! If you're into nature, this is a must. We saw a couple of big alligators and tons of turtles. The guide was awesome too. Planning to book again for family visiting next month. Definitely recommend!
