A guided backcountry trek with Tropical Treks will start by meeting at the starting location. We will then walk to a local hot spot nearby [Cafe, Shop, Etc] before we depart so you can check out the area. Next, we will depart from the trailhead and begin our trek! Our trek will take you through wetlands, prairies, tropical forests, sandy trails, streams, campsites, scenic vistas, and backcountry roads. Throughout the hike, our guide will show you and explain the local nature including popular plants, animals, and ecosystems. We know Florida is hot and sunny. Our hikes begin early and have staged water drops. The guide also carries additional water and a water filter in case of emergency. Safety is our number or concern so prior to departure, our guide will provide you with a link where you or anyone you send it to can view your live location in real-time! This 4 to 5-hour hike will end at either another local hotspot or another park depending on the weather and the client.

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for this hike? I wanna take my 12-year-old niece!

A: Great question! There's no strict age limit, but they recommend that kids be at least 10 years old to manage the hike's difficulty. Just be sure she’s comfortable with walking for 4-5 hours. It's a fun way to explore Florida's nature together!

Q: What should we wear for this hike? I want to make sure we’re comfortable.

A: Wear moisture-wicking clothes, a good pair of hiking boots, and don't forget a hat and sunscreen. The trails can get pretty hot and sunny. Comfortable socks are a must too! You might want to bring a light jacket for the cooler morning hours.

Q: What happens if the weather turns bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather looks bad, Tropical Treks will contact you to discuss rescheduling options. They keep safety a priority. Make sure to check their cancellation policy when you book. I know they’ve been super flexible in the past!

I’m planning to gift this guided day hike through Florida's backcountry to my boyfriend. He loves the outdoors, but I’ve never done a guided hike myself. How are the views on this trail? I heard it’s a mix of wetlands and tropical forests, which sounds awesome! Any tips for a first-timer?

Just got back from the guided hike with Tropical Treks in West Palm Beach, and wow! The wetlands were so beautiful, and our guide was super knowledgeable. We even saw some cool wildlife! I didn’t expect the water drops to be such a nice touch, especially in the heat. I highly recommend this experience. Must do for nature lovers!
