Q&A
A: Gilligan's Guide Service usually checks the weather and will contact you if they need to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible about that, especially if conditions aren’t safe. Just keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your day, and you can always reach out to them if you have concerns!
A: Absolutely! This guided fly fishing experience is perfect for beginners. The guides are super patient and will teach you everything you need to know. Plus, they provide all the gear, so you won’t have to worry about bringing anything other than your enthusiasm!
A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly on the Truckee River, especially in the morning. Bring a light jacket and wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. The guides provide wading gear, so you’ll be set for that part. Just make sure to wear something that allows you to move easily.

Thinking about gifting a guided fly fishing trip on the Truckee River!
So, I’m looking to surprise my brother with a fly fishing adventure on the Truckee River for his birthday. He’s never done it before but loves being outdoors. Gilligan's Guide Service seems to have great reviews, and they provide everything! Just wondering if anyone has done this experience? What can we expect?
Just got back from the guided fly fishing on Truckee River!
OMG, this experience was amazing! The guides from Gilligan's Guide Service were so chill and really knew their stuff. I caught 3 fish and learned a ton about fly fishing! If you’re thinking about it, don’t hesitate. The scenery is just beautiful! Definitely going back soon.
