Q&A
A: You don’t need anything too fancy, but definitely come prepared! Good hiking shoes are a must, and I suggest wearing lightweight, breathable clothing since it can get hot out there. Also, pack plenty of water—staying hydrated is key in the desert. Sunscreen and a hat are great ideas too!
A: There’s no specific age limit, but kids should be able to walk on uneven terrain for a while. Younger children usually do well on the gentler hikes. Just check with the guide when booking to make sure it’s appropriate for your family's skill level!
A: Rain can definitely change the plans! Usually, hikes are rescheduled if the weather isn’t safe. They’ll contact you beforehand if anything changes, so just keep an eye on your email. If it’s a light drizzle, sometimes the hike still happens, so it’s good to check!

Thinking of gifting a guided hike in Tucson—any thoughts?
Hey everyone! I'm considering gifting a guided hike in the Sonoran Desert to my sister for her birthday. I’ve heard great things about Dakini Destinations, and I think she’d love the chance to explore nature. Any tips on what to expect? What should she wear? I want her to enjoy every moment!
Just did the guided hike—SO worth it!
I just got back from a guided hike in the Sonoran Desert, and wow! The scenery was breathtaking, especially with the saguaro cacti everywhere. The guide was super knowledgeable about the wildlife too. We even spotted a roadrunner! Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a great outdoor experience.
