Or we could see a nuclear submarine, inbound container ships, or century-old schooners. You'll learn about Bainbridge Island's unique history, from having the largest shipyard for wooden vessels in the West, to the earthquake that lifted a whole section of the Island 23 feet which can still be seen today, and of being the first place from which Japanese-Americans were forcibly removed from their homes during World War II. ​

Q: Is there an age limit for the sailing adventure? Can kids join?

A: There's no strict age limit, but I saw families with kids as young as 5 on my trip. The crew is great with kids and they loved spotting sea lions! Just keep in mind it can get a bit chilly on the water, so dress your little ones warmly.

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can you reschedule?

A: Yes, if the weather looks rough, they’ll usually give you a heads up and allow you to reschedule. We had to move our trip due to rain, but they were super accommodating. Just check their policy when you book.

Q: What’s included in the experience? Are food and drinks provided?

A: They provide a cooler with ice, bottled water, and soft drinks, which is nice! Definitely bring your own snacks if you want something more substantial. I brought some sandwiches, and it made the trip much more enjoyable!

Just did the Seattle Sailing Adventure – it was epic!

I went on the sailing adventure last weekend and wow, it did not disappoint! We saw seals lounging on the rocks and even caught a glimpse of a submarine. The history part was super interesting too. Just make sure you check the weather before you go, since it can change fast on the water!
