At Manatees in Paradise, we are a small, family-owned company with a passion for wildlife & the environment! Founded in 2005 by manatee rescue volunteers focused on safeguarding the dwindling manatee population, our goal has always been to bring you the very best in educational, animal friendly tours. It has never been our ambition to have the largest fleet of boats on the water. Instead, we aim to have the smallest possible impact…which is why we only offer small tours & are proud to be 1 of 2 Guardian Guides with Save the Manatee Club! Regardless of whether you book a tour with us, we kindly ask that you respect the manatees & their space…not crowd or prey on them. Any tour company promoting the petting of wild manatees is truly part of an ongoing local problem. We love snorkeling with the manatees, but always remain mindful not to interfere with their natural behavior. You can also see them very well from the boat, so whether in the water or out, it's truly a magical adventure!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to participate in the snorkel tour?

A: Yes! Kids as young as 5 can join, but they must be accompanied by an adult. It’s a great experience for families! Just make sure your kids are comfortable in the water. The guides are very patient and helpful, especially if it’s their first time snorkeling.

Q: What should we wear for the snorkel tour? Any tips?

A: Definitely wear a swimsuit! A light rash guard is also a good idea since it provides sun protection. Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses for when you’re on the boat. You might want some water shoes too since the entry can be rocky.

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: Great question! They offer rescheduling if the weather isn’t safe for snorkeling. Usually, they’ll notify you by the evening before if there’s a change. Just be sure to give them a heads-up; they’re super accommodating!

Anyone else love snorkeling with manatees? Just did this tour!

I went on the Guided Semi-Private Snorkel Tour in Crystal River last week and it was amazing! The guides were super knowledgeable and really cared about the manatees. The GoPro photos were a fun bonus; they captured tons of great moments. I went with my 12-year-old son, and he couldn't stop talking about it! Definitely a memorable experience. Highly recommend it as a gift!

Thinking of gifting a snorkel tour for my partner's birthday!
