Since 2014, Mike has conducted over 800 trips on this magnificent section of reef in beautiful Lauderdale by the Sea. NOBODY knows this reef better! This unique spot is only a few minutes swim from shore and consists of hard and soft corals, fantastic colorful sponges, and a wide variety of amazing marine life! No need to spend all day traveling on a boat! Conditions permitting, we see angelfish, parrotfish, blue headed wrasse and sergeant majors on a daily basis. We also often see various types of rays, sea turtles, eels and nurse sharks (NOT dangerous!). From the water we have a great view of the quaint town and historic Anglin's Pier and you will have the opportunity to have your picture taken with them in the background. Mike will show you some of the best spots on the reef and can identify most of the fish you will see, and is a certified and insured Divemaster! This is a personal experience consisting of small groups, usually 4-6 people, with a maximum of 8.

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to participate in the snorkel experience?

A: Great question! Kids as young as 8 can join the snorkel experience, but they need to be accompanied by an adult. If they’re under 18, it’s best to check with Mike beforehand to see if they can handle the swim. The reefs are shallow and most of the marine life is super friendly, but being in the water can be a bit daunting for younger kiddos.

Q: What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?

A: If weather conditions aren’t safe for snorkeling, Mike will reschedule the trip to a later date. He’s super flexible about that, and he wants everyone to have a great experience. Just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe book a day or two in advance so you have options if you need to shift.

Q: Is there parking available near the snorkel location?

A: Yes, there’s parking available near the launch point at Lauderdale by the Sea! It’s really convenient, and you can usually find a spot on the street or in a nearby lot. Just be mindful of any parking fees if you go to the lots.

I’m thinking about this for my boyfriend’s birthday. I saw that it’s in Fort Lauderdale and includes snorkeling gear, which is perfect since he loves the ocean. I read that Mike is super knowledgeable about the reef and I think he’d really enjoy that. Has anyone done this? What should I consider before booking?

Just went on Mike's snorkel tour – it was epic!

I can't recommend the guided snorkel experience enough! It was just a small group, which made it feel personal. We saw a sea turtle and tons of colorful fish right up close. Plus, Mike takes great pics with the pier in the background. I’m thinking of gifting it to my sister next. She’d love it! Anyone have tips for first-time snorkelers?
