A: You’ll want to dress in layers! The tour includes a 45-minute walking portion at the farm, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Even in summer, it can get chilly in the Matanuska Valley, and if it rains, you’ll want a waterproof jacket. The drive is done in an air-conditioned vehicle, so you can leave those heavy coats behind for the ride!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: The tour runs rain or shine! So make sure to check the weather beforehand and dress appropriately. If there's severe weather that makes it unsafe, they might reschedule, but usually, you go regardless of rain. Just be prepared for some mud at the farm if it’s wet!

Wow, the Guided Tour of the Musk Ox Farm was awesome! We started with a scenic drive from Anchorage, and the views were breathtaking. At the farm, we got to see the musk oxen up close and learned all about their history. The guide was super knowledgeable and really funny too! Worth every penny (which was nothing since it was a gift!). Highly recommend this for families!
