Q&A
A: Great question! There aren't specific age limits for this tour, but keep in mind that the early morning wake-up could be tough for little ones. The guides are super accommodating, so just check with them about your kids' ages when you book. Also, the windy conditions at the summit can be chilly, so dress them warmly!
A: Absolutely, it can get pretty chilly! I'd recommend layering up since it can be cold at the summit and warmer down in Kihei. The tour provides a Helly Hansen suit, which is great, but I’d also bring a hat and gloves just in case. Comfortable shoes are a must, especially if you plan to walk around after sunrise.
A: The tours usually go on unless conditions are unsafe, but they do monitor the weather closely. If they have to cancel, they will typically reschedule you for a later date. It’s a good idea to stay flexible with your planning! You can always check in with them directly before your tour.

Thinking about gifting the Haleakala Sunrise Tour—any thoughts?
I’m looking to surprise my parents with the Haleakala Classic Vehicle Sunrise Tour. They’ve never been to Maui, and I think this would be a fantastic experience for them! They love history and nature, so the guided aspect sounds perfect. What should I know before I book it? Any tips from those who’ve done it?
Just did the Haleakala Sunrise Tour, and wow!
I just got back from the Haleakala Sunrise Tour and I can’t recommend it enough! The views at sunrise were absolutely breathtaking. The guides made the trip so informative, sharing tons of cool facts about the area. We even got to visit Makawao after! Just a heads up, it was super cold up there, but they provide those snazzy windbreaker suits, so I was comfy. If you’re debating, just do it!
