Q&A
A: I recommend starting the tour about 2-3 hours before sunset to really enjoy the views and explore at your own pace. Depending on the season, sunset times can change, so check the local times for when you're going. The stargazing portion is definitely best after sunset, so giving yourself that extra time is key!
A: There aren’t any strict age limits for the tour, but it's best suited for teens and adults who can manage some walking and listening to audio. Kids might enjoy it too, especially if they’re into space and stories! Just make sure they can stay engaged during the stargazing part.
A: Definitely dress in layers. It can get really chilly once the sun goes down, so a light jacket or hoodie is a must. Comfortable shoes are also important since you'll be doing some walking around the park. If you have a blanket, bring that for the stargazing part too!

Thinking of gifting the Haleakala Sunset and Stargazing tour!
I’m planning to surprise my sister with this tour for her birthday! I’ve heard the sunset views are unreal, and the stargazing is supposed to be one of the best experiences you can have in Maui. I just downloaded the Shaka Guide app, and it seems super user-friendly. Has anyone done this? Any tips on what to expect?
Haleakala Sunset and Stargazing - Worth it?
So I’m considering this audio tour for our trip to Maui next month. I’ve heard it’s flexible, which is great, but can someone tell me how long it actually takes? I read it varies, but what did you guys do? I want to make the most of the sunset and stargazing. Thanks!
