Despite being our shortest trip and closest to shore, expect to catch Grey Snapper, Porgies, Black Seabass, Hogfish, Mangrove Snapper and may even a Mackerel or Kingfish. A trip fun for the whole fami

Q&A
A: The best time to go fishing from John's Pass is typically from late spring to early fall. That's when you can catch the most variety, including Kingfish and Mackerel. Make sure to check local fishing reports as well, since conditions can change. And remember, weekends can fill up quickly, so book ahead!
A: There aren’t any strict age limits, but kids around 5 years and older usually do well on these trips. The crew is great with kids and can help them reel in their catch. Just make sure to keep an eye on them as the boat can get a bit rocky at times!
A: It's best to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure. This gives you time to park, grab your gear if you need it, and check in. Hubbard's Marina has easy parking, but it can fill up, especially on weekends. Arriving early also means you can grab a coffee from a nearby café!

Just booked the half-day fishing experience at John's Pass!
Hey everyone! I just bought the half-day fishing trip from John's Pass in Madeira Beach for my boyfriend's birthday. He loves fishing but hasn’t done much deep-sea stuff, so I'm hoping this is a good fit. I saw that they catch a bunch of fish, like Snapper and Seabass, so fingers crossed we get lucky! I’m also excited about the option to take our catch to The Friendly Fisherman next door to get it cooked. Has anyone else done this? Any tips?
Tips for making the most of the fishing trip!
Just got back from the half-day fishing experience, and wow, it was awesome! Caught some nice Grey Snapper and the crew was super helpful. I recommend bringing some snacks and drinks, plus a cooler if you want to take your catch home. Also, the boat can get a bit rocky, so if you’re prone to seasickness, maybe take a Dramamine beforehand. Overall, it’s a great experience for all skill levels!
