Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the kayak rentals? My kids are 10 and 13.

A: There’s no strict age limit for the kayaks, but kids under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. The kayaks are very stable and easy to use, so your 10-year-old should have no problem as long as you're there to help out. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water!

Q: What should I wear for biking and kayaking? Is it casual?

A: Definitely wear casual clothes! Think shorts and a t-shirt, but also consider a swimsuit since you'll be kayaking. Water shoes are great too because you might get wet. And don’t forget sunscreen! The sun can be strong on the water.

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can usually reschedule for another day. Just give them a call at The River Outfitters to confirm. They’re super friendly and will help you find a good time. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Thinking about gifting the Half-Day Fun Pass in Traverse City!

Hey everyone! I'm considering this Half-Day Fun Pass for my sister's birthday. She loves outdoor activities, and the kayak, bike, and SUP rental sounds perfect! Plus, Traverse City is so pretty in the summer. Has anyone done this? How was the experience? What can I expect? Would it be okay for her to bring a friend? Appreciate any tips!

Anyone tried the SUP rental in Traverse City?

Hey y'all! I’m looking at the stand-up paddleboard rental from The River Outfitters. I’ve never done SUP before but I've heard it’s fun. I’m a bit worried about falling in! Is it hard to balance? Any tips for a newbie?
