Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on the glacier hike? My 6-year-old is super active but I'm concerned about the difficulty.

A: Great question! The hike can be challenging for kids under 7 due to the terrain, so it might depend on your child's stamina and comfort level. If they're used to hiking and have good physical ability, they could do fine. Just make sure they're prepared and dressed for the weather!

Q: How does the weather affect the hike? Is it likely to be canceled if it rains?

A: Weather can definitely affect the hike, but the guides are experienced and will make decisions based on safety. Drizzle is usually fine, but heavy rain or dangerous conditions could lead to cancellations. They’ll keep you updated!

Q: What should we wear for the glacier hike? I'm not sure what will keep us comfortable.

A: Layering is key! Wear moisture-wicking base layers, a warm middle layer, and a waterproof outer layer. Don’t forget sturdy hiking boots and good socks. The guides provide crampons, which help on the ice, but make sure your shoes fit them well!

Just did the Half-Day Glacier Hike—unforgettable experience!

I went on the Half-Day Glacier Hike last weekend, and wow, it was amazing! The guides were super knowledgeable and fun. We hiked about 5 miles total, and the views of Root Glacier were breathtaking. We even saw some wildflowers along the trail. Pack good snacks and wear layers, as it can get chilly on the ice! Highly recommend this for families or anyone looking for an adventure!

Thinking of gifting the Half-Day Glacier Hike. Thoughts?

I’m considering gifting the Half-Day Glacier Hike to my partner for their birthday. They love hiking but have never hiked on a glacier before! I’m a bit nervous about how difficult it really is. Would it be good for a beginner with decent fitness?
