Q&A
A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, The Alaska Catch will typically reschedule your trip for a later date. They’re pretty flexible about it, especially since weather can change so fast in Alaska. Just give them a call if you have concerns, they usually work with you to find a good solution.
A: The Alaska Catch welcomes kids, but I’d recommend checking directly with them for any specific age guidelines. Generally, they’re pretty accommodating and want to make it a family-friendly experience. Just keep in mind that the fishing can be a bit rough for younger kids, so make sure they’re up for it!
A: Dress in layers! It can get pretty chilly on the water, even in summer. A waterproof jacket is a must, and don’t forget to wear non-slip shoes. Also, bring sunglasses and sunscreen; you'll be out in the sun for several hours. Better to be prepared!

Thinking of gifting the half-day halibut fishing trip in Ketchikan!
I’m considering this as a gift for my dad’s birthday. Has anyone here done the half-day private halibut fishing with The Alaska Catch? I want to make sure it’s worth it and if they actually catch fish! Also, how’s the crew? Are they friendly and helpful?
Anyone else love halibut fishing in Ketchikan?
Just came back from the half-day private halibut fishing trip and wow! The scenery was gorgeous, and the fight with the fish was intense. Caught a huge halibut, and the snacks they provided were surprisingly good! Highly recommend this for anyone looking to experience fishing in Alaska.
