Q&A
A: Yes, kids must be at least 12 years old to participate in the Royal Gorge rafting trip. It's a challenging adventure with Class IV-V rapids, so younger kids might not be suited for it. If you’re planning to take older teens, just make sure they’re comfortable in the water!
A: It’s best to wear a swimsuit or quick-dry clothes since you will definitely get wet! Also, don't forget to bring water shoes or sandals that can be secured to your feet. A hat and sunscreen are good ideas too because you’ll be in the sun for a bit.
A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, Journey Quest will usually reschedule your trip for another day. They prioritize safety, so if conditions are too dangerous, they’ll let you know ahead of time. Just keep an eye on the forecast and communicate with them!

Just came back from the Royal Gorge Rafting Adventure!
Wow, what a thrill! I just did the half-day trip with Journey Quest in Cañon City last weekend, and it was absolutely amazing! The rapids were intense and the views were stunning. The guides were super knowledgeable and made it so much fun. I do recommend having at least some rafting experience before you go; it’s not for complete beginners. Definitely worth every penny!
Considering gifting the Royal Gorge rafting experience!
I’m looking at getting this for my husband’s birthday. He loves adventure, and I think the Royal Gorge would be perfect! Does anyone know how early to book? Also, is it easy to get to Cañon City from Denver?
