Catch a catamaran across an 800 year old fishpond to Kualoa's Secret Island Beach Activity to find an ideal place to relax and spend the day with family and friends. Theres lots of water equipment to use as well as beach games. Bring your reef-safe sunscreen, swimsuit, water shoes, towel, shades and a camera for a fun-filled beach day. Some activities are canoes, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, beach volleyball, table tennis, or horseshoes. In addition to activities, you can just relax and read a book in a hammock under a swaying palm tree. Showers and changing rooms are available on Secret Island so bring a change of clothes and a towel if you’re planning to take a dip in the ocean. You can bring your own drink coolers and lunch/snacks if you want … just no glass bottles allowed … cans are preferred to avoid using single-use plastics! Refreshments are also available for sale.

A: There’s no strict age limit for the activities on Secret Island, but kids need to be supervised, especially during kayaking and paddleboarding. It’s a great spot for families, and my 6 and 9-year-olds had a blast! Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water.

Q: What should we wear? Is it okay to wear sandals or water shoes for the activities?

A: Definitely wear water shoes or sandals that you don’t mind getting wet! The beach has some rocky areas, so shoes are a good idea for kayaking and paddleboarding. A swimsuit is a must, and don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses!

Q: What happens if it rains? Can we reschedule our trip to Secret Island?

A: If it rains, Kualoa Ranch has a flexible rescheduling policy. Just call them ahead of time, and they’ll work with you to find a new date. It's usually pretty tropical, so light rain might not mess with your plans, but definitely check the forecast!

Amazing Day at Secret Island! Worth Every Penny!

I just got back from the half-day Secret Island experience, and wow, what a blast! We took the catamaran ride, and the views were breathtaking. Once we got to the island, we played beach volleyball, kayaked around, and just lounged in hammocks under palm trees. Definitely bring your reef-safe sunscreen! The showers were super convenient after getting all sandy, and I loved that we could bring our own cooler. Can't wait to go again!
