This section of the Colorado River offers scenic views including meadows, valleys, rolling ranch lands, and steep canyon walls and wildlife including ducks, geese, bald eagles, deer, beavers, and big horn sheep -- always something fun to see. The Colorado River is our favorite family-friendly rafting trip. Beginning as snowmelt high in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Colorado Rockies give birth to the legendary Colorado River. Downstream of the national park, the river character intensifies through the famed and Class 5 “Gore Canyon”, and then below the river gentles. This is where our Colorado River Rafting experiences begin, with an introduction to white water rafting for families, and groups looking to enjoy an iconic Colorado vacation.

Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for participants on the rafting trip?

A: Yes, there is a weight limit for safety reasons. Generally, it's around 250-300 lbs per person, but it’s best to check with Colorado Adventure Guides directly for specifics. They want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Q: What should we wear for the whitewater rafting experience?

A: Wear quick-drying clothes like a swimsuit or synthetic materials. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. The splash jacket provided is great, but you can also bring your own if you prefer. Water shoes are a must, too, as you'll get wet!

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather looks bad?

A: Yes, they have a flexible rescheduling policy for weather-related cancellations. Just reach out to them a day prior if conditions seem unsafe. They’re really accommodating, so you should be able to find another time that works for you.

Amazing Family Adventure on the Colorado River!

Just got back from the half-day whitewater rafting trip on the Upper Colorado River with Colorado Adventure Guides! It was an absolute blast. The scenery was stunning — we saw eagles and even a few deer. The rapids were thrilling but not too intense for my kids (ages 8 and 12). We got all our gear included, and the guides were super helpful. Anyone else considering this as a gift? Trust me, it's worth it!

Thinking of gifting this whitewater rafting experience!

I'm looking to buy this half-day rafting experience for my partner's birthday. He loves the outdoors and adventure, but I've never been rafting before. Is it really suitable for beginners? I've heard mixed reviews about river rafting experiences. Any tips?
