Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit for the Halfway Road to Hana tour, but it's best suited for kids ages 5 and up due to the nature of the stops and activities. If you’re bringing younger kids, just be prepared for the shorter van rides and make sure they can handle a bit of walking at the waterfalls. Definitely check with the provider if you have any specific concerns!
A: For the waterfall swim, I'd recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath your clothes and bringing a towel. The water is usually refreshing but not too cold, especially on a warm day. Also, flip-flops or water shoes can be helpful for getting around the rocky areas. Just keep an eye on the conditions since swimming is only allowed when it's safe.
A: Getting to the tour starting point in Kihei is pretty straightforward. There’s usually ample parking available near the pick-up location. If you're staying nearby, you could easily walk there. I recommend arriving a little early just to make sure you find the right spot, especially if you have bags or snacks with you!

Just did the Halfway Road to Hana tour, it was amazing!
I just got back from the Halfway Road to Hana tour and wow, what a great experience! We stopped at Aunty Sandy’s for the banana bread (so good!!!) and got to swim at Pua‘a Ka‘a State Wayside. The van was super comfy, and our guide was really knowledgeable about the area. I went with a small group of 8, which felt really personal. Definitely recommend it as a chill way to see the beauty of Maui without the all-day commitment!
Considering gifting this tour for my parents—thoughts?
I'm thinking of getting my parents this Halfway Road to Hana tour for their anniversary. They love nature but aren’t super adventurous, so this seems perfect! Can anyone share if it felt easy and relaxing? They’re both in their late 60s and have some mobility issues.
